Brown University Research Assistant in Providence, Rhode Island
Job Description:
The Petzschner lab at the Cognitive and Psychological Science Department is conducting longitudinal measurements using cognitive tasks, EEG and an in-house developed smartphone app (SOMA) to track pain, mood and emotions in healthy individuals and patient populations. The Research Assistant will support the execution of several large-scale research studies (online and local) that involve healthy individuals and chronic pain patients and the use of the SOMA app as well as EEG recordings.
This is a fixed term position with a current end date of 06/30/202 7 which may be extended based upon available funding.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Neuroscience, Psychology or relevant field and 1-2 research years’ experience required (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
Experience performing EEG, TMS, or fMRI tests preferred
Ability to work independently
Excellent interpersonal skills are required for working with the study participants
Good oral and written communication skills
Analytical skills and the ability to resolve technical or research problems and issues and to interpret the acceptability of data results
High degree of computer literacy
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize a variety of tasks
Careful attention to detail
Ability to demonstrate professionalism and respect for subject’s rights and individual needs
Knowledge of data management programs
