Job Description
The Kitchen Exhaust Cleaning Technician is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, and maintaining commercial kitchen exhaust systems to ensure fire safety, code compliance, and proper ventilation. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and degrease kitchen exhaust systems, including hoods, filters, ducts, and exhaust fans
Remove grease buildup using approved cleaning methods, tools, and chemicals
Protect kitchen equipment and surrounding areas before and during cleaning
Inspect exhaust systems for damage, excessive buildup, or safety concerns and report findings
Follow NFPA 96 standards, company procedures, and local fire safety regulations
Safely operate ladders, pressure washers, and cleaning equipment
Complete service reports, documentation, and before/after photos as required
Maintain a clean, safe work environment and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Prior kitchen exhaust or commercial cleaning experience is amust
Ability to work overnight
Physically able to lift, climb, and work in confined or elevated spaces
Valid drivers license and reliable transportation (not mandatory)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
