Overview
The Facilities Assistant Project Manager Intern supports the Facilities and Capital Projects team in planning, coordinating, and executing facility-related projects. This role provides hands-on exposure to building operations, maintenance projects, renovations, vendor coordination, and compliance activities across occupied facilities.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities
Assist Facilities Project Managers with planning and execution of facility and infrastructure projects
Support coordination of maintenance, repair, and minor renovation projects
Track work orders, project schedules, milestones, and close-out documentation
Assist with contractor and vendor coordination (scheduling, access, documentation)
Help maintain project documentation, including drawings, permits, inspection reports, and meeting minutes
Participate in site walks, inspections, and punch-list development
Assist with material tracking, purchase orders, and cost documentation
Support compliance with safety, building codes, and regulatory requirements
Update spreadsheets, CMMS systems, and project tracking tools
Communicate with internal stakeholders regarding project status and facility impacts
Learning & Development Opportunities

Understanding of preventive maintenance, capital planning, and building systems
Experience working with contractors, engineers, and operations teams

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in:
Facilities Management
Construction Management
Engineering
Architecture
Business Management or related field
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
Ability to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical staff
Detail-oriented with a strong willingness to learn
Comfortable working in active facility environments
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with facilities systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety)
Experience using CMMS or work order systems
Basic understanding of building codes or OSHA safety practices
Prior internship or coursework related to facilities or construction
