Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for the operation of tractor trailer combinations to facilitate the delivery of raw materials to the plant. Truck drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of their trucks and for maintaining all pertinent records.
Job Description
Drives tractor-trailer combination, while applying knowledge of commercial driving regulations .
Maneuvers truck into loading and/or unloading position, following signals from loading crew as required.
Drives truck to weigh station before and after loading, and along route to document weight incompliance with state regulations.
Maintains driver log following DOT regulations.
Inspects truck before and after use and submits report indicating truck condition.
Reads bill of lading to determine assignment.
Fastens chains or binders, which includes throwing straps, to secure loads on trailer during transit.
