Position Overview
Robert Half is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our Full Time Engagement Professionals program based out of Princeton, New Jersey. This role offers the stability of full time employment with Robert Half while supporting a variety of client payroll engagements across Central New Jersey.
As an FTEP Payroll Specialist, you will support critical payroll operations for client organizations, ensure payroll accuracy and compliance, and gain exposure to multiple industries and payroll environments.

The Full Time Engagement Professionals program provides full time employment, competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and ongoing professional development. FTEPs work on project based client assignments with consistent leadership and engagement management support from Robert Half.
Key Responsibilities
Support client engagements in payroll focused roles
Process weekly, biweekly, or semi monthly payrolls accurately and timely
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Manage multi state payroll processing for hourly and salaried employees
Support payroll for union and non union populations
Perform payroll related reconciliations and support month end close activities
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve payroll discrepancies
Support audits, reporting, and payroll related documentation as needed
Location and Work Model
This role supports clients primarily in the Princeton and Central New Jersey market. Assignments may be onsite, hybrid, or remote depending on client needs.

Requirements
Qualifications
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
At least 2 years of hands on payroll processing experience
Experience with multi state payroll processing
Experience supporting both union and non union payroll environments
Certified payroll experience is a plus
Strong Excel skills including data entry, reconciliations, and basic formulas
Experience working with multiple ERP and payroll software systems
Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
