Position Summary Information
General Summary
TheAdministrative Assistant Iwill perform administrative and general clerical work which follows well established procedures.
Essential Functions
Types and edits correspondence, memoranda, reports and other documents
Greets office visitors and answers telephone
Receives and opens incoming mail
Prepares and processes routine acknowledgments and human resources actions
Maintains routine alphabetical and/or chronological files and/or records
Maintains time and leave records
Procures office supplies
Compiles information and types routine reports
Maintains supervisor’s appointment calendar
Other Functions
- Performs other related duties as required
Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Work is performed in normal office environment
Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Good knowledge of business English, correct spelling and arithmetic
Good knowledge of modern office practices, procedures and equipment
Good knowledge of modern business software applications
Ability to make simple arithmetical computations and tabulations with speed and accuracy
Ability to adhere to prescribed routines
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Ability to write simple correspondence
Skill in operation of personal computer and other standard office equipment
Minimum Education, Experience Requirements
High School diploma or equivalent
1 year administrative assistant experience
Additional Requirements
- Basic level of proficiency with MS Office applications; Applicants may be required to demonstrate proficiency at time of interview
