The Manufacturing Planning Supervisor is responsible for supervising plant scheduling and logistics functions. This position will be responsible for ensuring a high level of customer service and issue resolution to Homebuilding Operations and a balanced production and delivery schedule for the plant. The position will manage performance data, communicate with Homebuilding Operations, Architectural Services, and plant leadership, and will coach, develop and supervise an assigned team.

This role is located in our Richmond , VA plant.

Primary Responsibilities:

· Lead the plant Scheduling & Logistics functions through an understanding of plant capacity, material availability, field capacity plans, delivery model and costs, plant metrics, and other relevant factors.

· Ensure a balanced schedule for the plant and Homebuilding Operations and proper capacity planning and communication for challenges like inclement weather and load restrictions.

· Provide support, communication, problem-solving, and expertise to Homebuilding Operations, which includes participating in production meetings as needed. Develop and maintain strong relationships with Project Managers, Costing Managers, and Production Managers and respond to issues in a timely manner.

· Level customer requests with plant capacity and manage requests for production and/or delivery schedule changes or material corrections. Ensure information is communicated to all stakeholders.

· Lead an effective logistics operation to reduce delivery damage, improve costs, and ensure safe delivery. Manage delivery assets and positioning and partner with the Building Products team to establish trailer usage amounts and loading processes on new or refreshed designs.

· Manage one or more third party logistics providers, ensuring a high level of delivery performance to the field, cost-effective deliveries, and compliance with NVR policies and Brand Promise expectations.

· Lead and direct NVR commercial driver licensed (CDL) and Non-CDL drivers for miscellaneous and package deliveries to Homebuilding operations. Ensure a balanced and cost-effective schedule and compliance with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and NVR policies and regulations.

· Lead department and engage with team members through regular coaching, feedback, and professional development. Evaluate department staffing and training needs and collaborate with management to make staffing decisions.

· Monitor and provide recommendations on key metrics to senior leadership to establish a high level of performance and customer service.

· Supervise the local plant Issue Resolution functions and coordinate all miscellaneous orders, site delivery reports, material returns, etc. with the plant and Homebuilding operations.

· Partner with IT on any systems testing or pilot software, related to Scheduling or Logistics.

· Support other areas as assigned, including, but not limited to, plant administration and documentation process.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor’s degree required

· Minimum 3 years’ experience in production planning, scheduling, or logistics in a manufacturing environment

· Minimum 2 years’ leadership experience with a demonstrated track record of achieving results and developing subordinates

· Excellent problem analysis and critical thinking abilities

· Experience working within teams and a demonstrated commitment to customer service

· Outstanding reliability, with strong planning and organizational skills

· Ability to drive improvements within the organization and coach/develop others to achieve goals

· Demonstrated proficiency in managing multiple tasks, setting priorities, decision-making, adapting, and meeting deadlines

· Outstanding communication, collaboration and conflict management

· Ability to travel to other NVR plants and locations, as needed

· Proficient in ERP / production/scheduling tools and Microsoft Office applications
