Job Description Summary
The H/M Product Line Systems Engineering Leader works as a direct report to the H/M Product Line Engineering Leader (Head of Design).
Based in Prague, is accountable for the system-level technical definition, integration, verification, and continuous improvement of the H/M turboprop engine across its lifecycle.
This role provides senior technical leadership to cross-functional teams and ensures that the H/M product line meets customer, regulatory, and business requirements for Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.
The role is key to maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness, reliability, and in-service performance of the H/M fleet.
Job Description
Essential responsibilities
System ownership: act as the senior system owner for the H/M engine, accountable for the technical configuration, requirements, and system performance across all variants and major applications.
Architecture & requirements : lead definition and maintenance of H/M system architecture and requirements; make senior-level trade-offs across performance, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
V&V leadership : own the H/M system-level validation and verification strategy, including test, analysis, and in-service data; ensure traceability and coverage for continued airworthiness.
Technical decision-making: chair or heavily influence key technical decision boards for the H/M (e.g., configuration changes, major design trades, control logic changes, service bulletins).
Risk & issue management : own the system-level risk register for H/M; drive mitigation plans, and lead root cause investigations for critical in-service or test issues.
Cross-functional leadership: lead Prague-based and global cross-functional teams (design, performance, controls, systems safety, manufacturing, services) to solve complex system issues and deliver improvements.
Customer/OEM interface: serve as a senior technical focal for H/M system topics with OEMs, operators, and regulatory bodies, in partnership with customer and certification teams.
Fleet and product improvement : use fleet data, reliability metrics, and operator feedback to prioritize and lead system-level product improvements, campaigns, and upgrades.
Coaching & mentoring : serve as a technical mentor and coach for Prague-based systems and design engineers, building local H/M product and systems engineering capability.
Process & governance : champion robust systems engineering practices and configuration management within the Prague site; influence and improve global processes as they apply to the H/M product line.
FLIGHT DECK: promote and spread FLIGHT DECK across the organization, promoting and implementing daily management and standard work
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s degree in Aero/Mechanical Engineering, or related advanced discipline
Extensive experience in gas turbine or turboprop engine engineerin
Significant experience in systems engineering, engine integration, or engine-level technical leadership
Proven experience with turboprop or small turboprop engines
Familiarity with the H/M or similar engines is strongly preferred
Deep understanding of engine performance, operability, and controls/FADEC integration
Strong knowledge of system safety and certification/continued airworthiness for propulsion systems
Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional engineering teams
Proven ability to influence decisions at program or product line level
Ability to engage effectively with international stakeholders (engineering, leadership, OEMs, regulators)
Direct experience supporting EASA/FAA engine certification, changes to type design, or airworthiness directives.
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required.
