Job Summary:

Responsible for overall management of technical content, objects and the database in which they are maintained. May assist in establishing objectives, plans, and timelines for the development of comprehensive technical documents such as procedure manuals, operational specifications, training manuals, presentations, articles and related technical publications.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develops and reviews technical content XML and SGML structural requirements of database objects to ensure required specifications are met.
Builds and manages database work spaces for content development teams.
Assists content development teams with proper tagging and presentation of technical information.
Creates database objects to include but not limited to Data Modules and Illustrations.
Works with multiple technical content development teams to schedule the availability of desired database objects for updating and publishing of documentation.
Provides a forum for communication between development teams to ensure needs and status are identified and socialized.
Produce S1000D Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals/Publications or MIL- STD/S1000D PDF documents.

Job Qualifications:
Typically requires education or formal training equivalent to the completion of a bachelor's degree and 5 or more years of professional documentation or database administration experience. Equivalent professional experience may be substituted in lieu of education/training.
Must demonstrate a comprehensive technical understanding of military or commercial systems and have knowledge of the engineering development process.
Must have a general understanding of configuration management concepts and principles.
Must have an understanding of technical documentation development and management using S1000D International Specification or Military Specifications. Database administration experience may be substituted in lieu of documentation development and management.
Must possess:
the ability to develop, acquire, interpret and communicate technical data
the ability to understand new concepts and apply them in an evolving environment
strong organization skills
the ability to identify issues and develop solutions to technical problems
strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills to accurately analyze, document, present and report recommendations
strong knowledge of computer operations and applications
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours and travel as required.
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance is required.
