Job Title: Material Handler

Job Description

The Material Handler supports a busy manufacturing and warehouse operation by accurately pulling parts, stocking production lines, and moving inventory between warehouse, manufacturing, and storage areas. This role works in a fast-paced, ongoing production environment and helps ensure that assemblers have the correct materials prepared and ready each day.

Responsibilities

  • Pull parts from the warehouse and deliver them to the manufacturing line according to daily production requirements.

  • Stock and replenish the production line so assemblers have all required materials ready at the start of and throughout the shift.

  • Build carts and loading stations with the correct parts and quantities to support daily assembly operations.

  • Transport inventory between warehouse, manufacturing, and storage areas using appropriate material handling equipment.

  • Use an RF scan gun connected to the ERP system to accurately scan, track, and update inventory movements.

  • Determine and stage the exact amount of parts needed each day for production, following Kanban and other inventory control methods.

  • Fulfill and replace damaged parts to ensure production is not disrupted.

  • Handle small, light parts and occasionally move heavier items, including a component weighing up to 57 pounds, using safe lifting techniques and equipment.

  • Operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner to move materials as needed.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work area within the warehouse and manufacturing spaces.

  • Work collaboratively with a small team to meet performance, accuracy, and attendance expectations in a fast-paced environment.

Essential Skills

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.

  • Forklift operation experience and current or prior forklift certification.

  • Hands-on experience using RF scanners for inventory tracking.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-activity setting with ongoing tasks.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate part counts and inventory movements.

  • Capability to handle small parts and occasionally lift or move items weighing up to 57 pounds safely.

  • Reliable attendance and strong work ethic to support daily production needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment is highly preferred.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems for inventory and production tracking is a plus.

  • Comfort working with Kanban or similar inventory management methods.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a small team.

  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a busy setting.

Work Environment

This role is based in a busy manufacturing and warehouse facility in Poway. The environment is fast-paced, with continuous movement of small, light parts and occasional handling of heavier items using proper equipment. You will work closely with a small team in a production-focused setting that relies on forklifts, RF scan guns, and an ERP system to manage inventory and material flow. The workspace includes both warehouse and manufacturing areas, requiring comfort with being on your feet, moving throughout the facility, and working around active production lines.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Poway, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
