The Mechanic/Autoworker Lead is responsible for guiding, and motivating mechanics and autoworkers to ensure efficient, high-quality service and customer satisfaction. This position assigns work, monitors progress, provides training and mentorship, and ensures that all maintenance and repair activities are performed safely and in compliance with applicable Navy and company standards. The Supervisor promotes teamwork, maintains high morale, and ensures smooth daily operations within the shop. Typical duties include but are not limited to: Supervise, instruct, and motivate a team of mechanics and autoworkers to achieve operational and quality objectives. Assign, organize, and delegate work while monitoring performance to ensure tasks are completed accurately, efficiently, and safely. Review all technicians' work-in-progress to ensure quality, timeliness, and compliance with technical standards. Interpret and apply Technical Manuals, Lubrication Orders, and applicable Navy maintenance regulations. Guide and mentor employees on proper service, repair, and troubleshooting techniques for a wide range of military equipment, including wheeled and tracked vehicles, engineering equipment, power generation, and material handling equipment. Perform quality assurance checks, identify discrepancies, and provide on-the-spot corrections to maintain the highest performance standards. Validate all labor hours charged to work orders daily to prevent excessive billing to the government. Ensure that all forms, records, and reports are properly completed and submitted on time. Verify that all contract deliverables submitted to Quality Control meet quality and performance specifications. Promote good housekeeping and safe working conditions within the shop environment. Train new employees in maintenance procedures, safety practices, and company standards. Utilize computer databases and portable electronic devices for documentation, timekeeping, and material orders. Qualifications: A valid State Driver license and ability to obtain and maintain coverage on Tessera's auto insurance policy is required. Interpret and apply department policies and procedures; Use electronic software and maintain a database using a computer. Enforce standard practices, methods, and tools.
