The HVAC Mechanic is responsible for the installation, diagnosis, service, and repair of environmental-control heating and air-conditioning systems across a variety of facilities. This role applies technical knowledge to perform routine maintenance and repairs, ensuring systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with standards Typical duties include but are not limited to: Install, repair, and troubleshoot HVAC malfunctions. Responsible for performing preventative maintenance on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment. Responsible for utilizing wire diagrams, schematics, blueprints, and drawings to perform repairs and maintenance. Responsible for installing and programming thermostats. Fabricates, assembles, and installs ductwork and chassis parts. Responsible for connecting motors, compressors, temperature controls, and circulating ventilation fans to control panels and connect control panels to power source. Communicates and interacts directly with the customer, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs. Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customer Communicates with scheduler to update status of repairs and estimate completion dates. Qualifications: 0-3 years in HVAC VAC and/or EPA Certification required. Must have civilian or military trade school training or equivalent. Washington State EL-06A electrical license. Physical Requirements: Employees must have the ability to perform the following physical demands for extended periods of time with or without assistance. The physical demands of this position may be reasonably accommodated for individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions on a case-by-case basis. Must be able to lift and/or move up to 70 pounds. May be required to reach, kneel, walk, stand, and use repetitive motion for several hours at a time based on position duties. Work may require repetitive motion, reaching, lifting, kneeling, and walking. Standing or sitting for several hours at a time, climbing in and out of a vehicle, and up and down stairs may also be required.
