The General Maintenance Worker III (GM-3) performs skilled to highly skilled work in the general maintenance and upkeep of buildings, plumbing, electrical, structural, grounds, and equipment
.
Typical duties include but are not limited to:
- Responsible for a variety of tasks, including painting, carpentry, siding repairs/replacement, glass replacement in doors and windows, minor plumbing, masonry, concrete repairs, and minor electrical work. Clean roof drains and gutters.
- Responsible for replacing electrical receptacles and switches, fixtures, and bathroom exhaust fan motors.
- Use plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls or ceilings.
- Repair or replace sinks, water coolers, and toilets. Caulking plumbing kitchen fixtures
- Communicate and interact directly with the customer and supervisors, informing the customer of unexpected or additional repairs and determining customer needs.
- Respond to customer inquiries and complaints.
- Ensure completed work meets quality control standards.
- Use portable handheld electronic devices to manage work.
- Make difficult diagnoses and suggest solutions and repairs to customers and supervisors.
- Communicate with the scheduler to update the status of repairs and estimate completion dates.
Qualifications:
Highschool Diploma/GED is required.
Minimum 3 years of closely related experience.
