EPSILON SYSTEMS Foreman (LCAC SRS) in Portsmouth, Virginia
Epsilon Systems Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time LCAC Foreman in the SRS Division in Portsmouth VA
Summary: Supervises and coordinate the activities of various mechanical trades. Acts as liaison between customer and company.
Responsivities:
Recruits and trains subordinate personnel; establishes safety and work performance standards
Plans, assigns, schedule, supervises the work of trades helper subordinates on various LCAC repair projects
Determine schedule, sequences and assignments for work activity, based on work priority, quantity of equipment and skill of personnel
Monitor employees' work level and review work performance
Monitor tool and part inventories and condition and maintenance of the area to ensure adequate working conditions
Investigate accidents and injuries and prepare reports of findings
Develops, implements, and evaluates maintenance policies and procedures
Assists program and project teams with prospective work estimates and hours to complete the job including material procurements, quotes and duration of project
Performs related work as required
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High School diploma or equivalent
5 years' related ship repair/structural work experience
Ability to communicate effectively, work independently or in a group.
Ability to do basic math, i.e. add, subtract, divide and multiply.
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English.
Ability to obtain and maintain access to military and government installations and private shipyards
ADA/Work Environment:
Shop environment, pier side and shipboard.
Frequent standing, sitting, crawling, kneeling, stooping, crouching, walking, handling, feeling with hands, reaching with arms.
Regular communication (hearing/speaking).
Occasional lifting up to 50+ pounds.
Noise conditions range from very quiet to very noisy.
Able to move in narrow and restricted passageways, up/down steep and narrow ladders or stairways
