Job Title: MIG Welder – Stainless Steel Fabrication

Job Description

This role focuses on MIG welding stainless steel rails and wheelchair lift components in a high-volume production environment. You will interpret blueprints, perform precise fabrication work, and ensure high-quality welds on stainless steel using MIG welding techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG welding on stainless steel rails and wheelchair lift components according to production requirements.

  • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to complete welding tasks accurately.

  • Use a tape measure and other basic measuring tools to verify dimensions and ensure components meet specifications.

  • Set up, operate, and adjust MIG welding equipment for stainless steel welding in a production setting.

  • Inspect welds for quality, consistency, and adherence to standards, making corrections as needed.

  • Assist with general fabrication tasks related to stainless steel components as required.

  • Follow all safety procedures and use appropriate protective equipment while working in a heavy industrial environment.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area to support efficient production operations.

Essential Skills

  • Previous welding experience in a production or industrial environment.

  • Proficiency in MIG welding, particularly on stainless steel materials.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings.

  • Skill in using a tape measure and other basic measuring tools accurately.

  • Understanding of stainless steel welding techniques and best practices.

  • Ability to work safely and effectively in a hot, heavy industrial environment.

  • Reliability to work the scheduled shift from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Flux core welding experience is a plus.

  • Experience with stainless steel fabrication is beneficial.

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced production environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality welds.

Work Environment

The position is based in a hot, heavy industrial environment where temperatures can reach up to 108 degrees. The work involves hands-on welding and fabrication using MIG equipment on stainless steel components in a production setting. To support comfort and safety, the facility provides water stations and a slushie machine in the break room to help employees stay cool and hydrated throughout the shift. The standard schedule is 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
