Forklift Operator – Production Support

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and safety‑focused Forklift Operator to support daily manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for delivering raw materials and components to production lines and transporting finished goods from production to designated staging or shipping areas. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, safety‑conscious, and comfortable working in a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supply production lines with raw materials, components, and packaging as needed to maintain uninterrupted workflow

  • Transport finished goods and completed products from production lines to staging, storage, or shipping areas

  • Safely operate forklifts and other material handling equipment in accordance with company policies and safety standards

  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance or safety concerns

  • Accurately move, stack, and stage materials according to production schedules and warehouse layout

  • Maintain clear aisles, organized staging areas, and a clean work environment

  • Follow all site‑specific safety procedures, including PPE requirements

  • Communicate effectively with production, shipping, and warehouse teams to support daily goals

  • Assist with inventory movement, loading, and unloading as required

Qualifications

  • Prior forklift operating experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment (preferred)

  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and stand or walk for extended periods

  • Strong attention to safety and detail

  • Ability to read work instructions and follow production schedules

  • Willingness to cross‑train and support other areas as needed

  • Flexibility to work overtime or weekends when required

Preferred Skills & Experience

  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain certification on site)

  • Previous experience supporting production lines or shipping/receiving

  • Familiarity with basic inventory or warehouse systems

  • Strong teamwork and communication skills

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Manufacturing/warehouse setting with exposure to moving equipment

  • Steel‑toe footwear and eye protection required

  • Repetitive lifting, bending, and material handling throughout the shift

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portland, TN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.50 - $17.85/hr.
