In this role as a Technical Partner / Application Engineer for Protection & Automation , you'll serve as a go-to technical expert for Siemens' SIPROTEC and SICAM product lines, combining deep application knowledge with customer-facing leadership to drive adoption across the US market. Your primary focus: Being the first point of contact for customer support after delivery.
Working alongside partners in Sales and Business Development, you'll communicate product and system value, deliver demonstrations, and develop innovative Protection, Control, Monitoring, and Automation solutions — with the goal of embedding Siemens products into the engineering standards of industrial consultants and end users.

You'll Make an Impact With:
Strategic Leadership
Driving thought leadership by communicating the value of Siemens products and system offerings in day-to-day customer engagements.
Championing approval of the SIPROTEC and SICAM portfolio and associated applicationsin the engineering and approval standards of EPC and design consultants.
Partnering with Sales and Business Development to build a project pipeline specified with Siemens solutions through strong customer relationships.
Providing application expertise in power management, load shedding, generation controls, communications protocols, network topologies, and IEC 61850.
Customer & Sales Enablement
Serving as the initial point of contact for application-related questions in your region, ensuring prompt responsiveness and high NPS.
Collaborating closely with Sales and Energy Automation Business Developers to grow the opportunity pipeline through enhanced specification activity.
Maintaining deep proficiency on Siemens platforms and delivering customer training as needed.
Representing Siemens at conferences and industry forums through white papers, journal contributions, and presentations.
Core Technical Competency
- Demonstrating end-to-end solution expertise across the Energy Automation portfolio: Protection Relays, Automation RTUs, Power Quality, PMS/EMCS, HMI Systems, Microgrids, and IoT.
You’ll win us over by having the following qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems or a related field.
Five (5) or more years of Core Protection and Automation work experience in Commissioning, Business Development, and Projects, with a strong endeavor to influence customers with technology.
Experience with SIPROTEC and/or SICAM product brands.
Experience in Standard Protocols such DNP3, Modbus and IEC 61850.
Experience in Digital Substation concepts, including SMVs, Goose Messages, and interoperability between vendors.
Basic Knowledge of MGC and IoT solutions.
Flexibility to travel up to 50 % with full discretion to plan customer interface and travel schedules depending on regional demand. Travel support is provided.
Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Systems or related field.
Strong customer service and building positive relationship skills, with prior direct customer experience.
Highly partner-focused, proactive, and effective within a team environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with soft skills in Microsoft Office packages.
