Description
Robert Half is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to lead the design, planning, security, and ongoing operations of a multi-site, enterprise network environment across North America. This role will play a key part in driving network strategy, implementing scalable solutions, and ensuring high availability and security across all systems.
Duration: Long-term contract
Location: Hybrid in Seattle, Washington or Portland, Oregon
Pay rate: $45-$50/hourly (W2)
Responsibilities:
Own the design, implementation, and management of enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations
Develop and propose a strategic roadmap for adopting new network technologies
Maintain and enhance network security, including internal and perimeter protections
Perform real-time network monitoring and respond to security threats, malware, and intrusion attempts
Ensure high availability and reliability through proactive monitoring, redundancy, and fault tolerance planning
Conduct traffic and capacity analysis to optimize network performance
Manage and support LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, SAN, and internet services across all sites
Administer and troubleshoot Fortinet environments (FortiGate, FortiOS, VPN, wireless)
Manage remote access solutions, including site-to-site VPNs and RADIUS
Partner with infrastructure teams on endpoint security and network configurations
Maintain relationships with vendors and service providers, driving issues through resolution
Create and maintain technical documentation, including network design and processes
Research and recommend emerging technologies to improve performance and security
Provide escalation support to Desktop Support and other IT teams
Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours and weekend support as needed
Requirements
Strong experience managing enterprise, multi-site network environments
Hands-on expertise with Fortinet technologies (FortiGate, FortiOS, VPN, wireless)
Deep understanding of network security, intrusion detection, and threat response
Experience with SD-WAN, routing/switching, and network optimization
Familiarity with RADIUS, VPN technologies, and remote access solutions
Proven ability to design and implement scalable network architectures
Strong troubleshooting skills across network, security, and connectivity issues
Experience working with vendors and managing service providers
Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on execution
Strong documentation and communication skills
Nice to Have:
Experience with network monitoring and analytics tools
Background in high-availability environments with redundancy planning
Exposure to enterprise security frameworks and compliance standards
