Description
Charlie Gilmur with Robert Half is looking for an experienced Accounts Payable Manager to join our team in Portland, Oregon. In this role, you will oversee and optimize the accounts payable function, ensuring that all processes run efficiently and adhere to compliance standards. This position also involves supervising a dedicated team, collaborating with leadership on financial closings, and driving improvements in operational workflows.
Responsibilities:
• Manage full-cycle accounts payable operations within a collaborative team environment.
• Oversee vendor relationships, including invoice processing, statement reconciliation, and record maintenance.
• Audit and process employee expense reports to ensure compliance with company policies.
• Lead month-end and year-end accounts payable closings, including regulatory filings, and support general ledger closings.
• Supervise and mentor accounts payable staff, including managing performance reviews, hiring, and fostering team growth.
• Reconcile accounts by identifying discrepancies and applying appropriate accounting practices.
• Prepare and analyze accounts payable aging reports and other financial documentation.
• Ensure accurate reconciliation of general ledger accounts and provide narrative analyses of financial variances.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency within accounting functions.

Requirements • Minimum of 10 years of experience in accounts payable or general ledger accounting.
• At least 2 years of recent experience managing staff within a financial function.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, along with strong 10-key skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics SL Accounting System is advantageous.
• Experience with automated accounts payable and expense software such as Concur.
• Previous experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction (A/E/C) industry is highly valued.
