Department Administrative Clerk

The Department Administrative Clerk is a general clerical and receptionist position performing clerical work for the Community Services Department and Adult Education Center at DAEOC's Portageville Campus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and route incoming telephone calls
- Retrieve general voicemail, determine appropriate part and transfer messages
- Receive telephone messages and deliver to appropriate personnel
- Answer basic questions about the organization and the various programs as well as provide addresses, directions and other information
- Welcome on-site visitors, determine nature of business and announce visitors to appropriate personnel
- Monitor visitor access and issue visitor passes when required
- Maintain meeting room reservation calendar
- Maintain vehicle reservation calendar
- Assists in planning, organization and presentations for meetings, events and training
- Receives, sorts and routes mail and facsimile transmissions
- Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, photocopying and collating
- Constructs and maintains computer files and records and prepares reports from information entered
Education and/or Experience:
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- One year experience in a related job
- AA degree or certificate and/or commensurate experience in related areas highly desirable
- Clean Background Check and Drug/Alcohol Test
- Valid Missouri Driver's License
