Rate of Pay: $157,122.00 to $171,000.00 per Year
Duties: Plan and implement the design, manufacturing, and integration of wireless tech blocks including RFID, WIFI, Bluetooth, and other wireless technology for Neurosurgical portfolio of products. Provide oversight and decision making on antenna design and off-the-shelf component selection to provide robust solutions for medical device systems. Develop EMC test plans and analysis for electromagnetic compliance, reliability, safety, cost and design for manufacturing, assembly, and test. Lead or mentor design and development of electrical components, sub-systems, and/or systems for medical devices. Apply and mentor others on advanced engineering theories, principles, and concepts. Conduct, design, and select advanced prototyping and testing. Lead and guide in correction of complex product design issues. Conduct technology exploration and influence application in business. Translate users need to design inputs/specifications and produce complex system level designs independently. Develop a number of invention disclosures, patents or trade secrets. Independently make design tradeoff decisions while designing multiple components of the system. Contribute to competitive and market strategy. Contribute to and execute customer-facing activities like voice of customer and customer centric design in partnership with internal and external stakeholders. Mentor others as a business unit expert on the usage of industry standards, including design requirements and test strategies per applicable regulations. Lead others to create and refine engineering documentation, including the Design History file, and create more progressive technical content. Contribute to R&D procedures and development of industry standards working closely with cross-functional business units. Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success, both leading and influencing other leaders on the team. Identify and lead the creation of or improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology required. Execute and lead segments of complex product development to advance projects through the design /development/launch process. Contribute to complex product development through release and lead one technical area of expertise.
Hybrid -- 2 days remote/week. Position requires 5% domestic travel.
Requirements: Must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and four (4) years of experience designing wireless circuits, PCB layouts, antennas, and simulation. Alternatively, employer will also accept a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering or related field and two (2) years of experience designing wireless circuits, PCB layouts, antennas, and simulation. Position requires experience in Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) circuit, antenna design and Radio Frequency/Electromagnetic (RF/EM) simulation; experience in WIFI and Bluetooth module development and application; experience in Electrical design for Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) compliance; and experience using Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools to perform schematic creation from scratch, PCB layout design and circuit and antenna simulation.
