Job Title: Powder Coater I, Manufacturing - Skilled

Job Description

In this role, you will be responsible for painting and using powder operations to properly prepare components, including sub-assemblies and other related parts, to contribute to the completion of a variety of products. You will adhere to quality and quantity standards while following directions to meet part specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and paint components using powder operations.

  • Adhere to quality and quantity standards.

  • Maintain good housekeeping and ergonomics practices.

  • Participate in cross-training and teamwork initiatives.

  • Speak up and address any safety or quality issues.

  • Learn new processes, systems, and equipment.

  • Perform basic preventative maintenance and documentation tasks.

  • Collaborate effectively within diverse, cross-functional teams.

Essential Skills

  • Ability to read and understand procedures, safety sheets, and instructions in English.

  • Strong verbal communication skills.

  • Attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.

  • Ability to lift and carry 10-50 lbs. frequently and occasionally up to 75 lbs.

  • Stamina for repetitive tasks and prolonged physical activities such as stooping, kneeling, and standing.

  • Hand-eye coordination and ability to operate machinery.

  • Basic knowledge of team concepts and conflict resolution.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience in painting, powder coating, and general labor.

  • Ability to handle and load/unload powder coats with heavy lifting involved.

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing setting where you will be exposed to loud noises and be required to wear safety gear such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, and hearing protection in designated areas. The role involves operating machinery and working in a paint booth area, requiring the use of proper respirators and other equipment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Portage, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $20.50/hr.
