Stryker Fleet Manager in Portage, Michigan
What you will do-
Join a high-performing transportation and logistics team that is driving cost efficiency, operational excellence, and service reliability across Stryker’s U.S. distribution network. As a Fleet Manager , you will provide governance and performance oversight of Stryker’s dedicated fleet operations managed by our 3PL partner.
Within our Global Transportation and Trade (GTT) Center of Excellence, you will serve as the primary point of accountability for fleet performance, cost management, utilization, and contract compliance across multiple sites. This role partners closely with Transportation Operations, Distribution, Indirect Procurement, Finance, Commercial Leadership, Customer Service, and Logistics to ensure disciplined execution, continuous improvement, and alignment to Stryker’s service and cost objectives.
This is a hybrid role. Periodic travel to 3PL sites is required to support operational reviews, audits, and improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Lead weekly operational reviews with 3PL site managers to assess fleet performance, utilization, service levels, and cost efficiency
Monitor and analyze weekly and monthly fleet cost reports, identifying variances, risks, and cost reduction opportunities
Drive fleet utilization optimization by identifying opportunities related to routing, scheduling, asset deployment, and idle time reduction
Execute continuous improvement initiatives across all 3PL fleet sites, ensuring consistency, accountability, and measurable results
Serve as escalation point for fleet-related operational issues, leading root cause analysis and corrective action plans
Conduct comprehensive monthly performance reviews with 3PL, identifying trends, systemic issues, and improvement opportunities
Review monthly fleet spend versus budget and partner with Finance and Procurement to communicate trends, risks, and savings opportunities
Act as the primary liaison for all 3PL fleet-related topics across internal stakeholders, including Procurement, Commercial, Transportation, and Logistics
Perform periodic audits to ensure compliance with contractual terms, service level agreements, and cost-plus structures
Partner with 3PL on fleet maintenance performance, preventive maintenance adherence, and safety standards
Support fleet lifecycle planning, including renewals, replacements, upgrades, and capacity planning
Review customer feedback related to delivery and installation performance, driving actions that improve service quality and customer satisfaction
Own, track, and evolve fleet KPIs to ensure alignment with Stryker’s cost, utilization, service, and safety objectives
What you will need-
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, transportation, business, operations, or related field
8+ years of experience in transportation, fleet management, logistics, or 3PL operations
Demonstrated experience overseeing dedicated fleet operations and third-party logistics providers
Strong financial and analytical skills with the ability to interpret cost, utilization, and performance data
Demonstrated ability to drive cost reduction through governance, optimization, and operational discipline
Proven ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and manage complex vendor relationships
Ability to influence without direct authority and hold partners accountable to performance expectations
Experience leading issue resolution, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives
Strong communication skills with the ability to present data-driven insights to senior leadership
Exercises sound judgment and balances risk and reward in dynamic and ambiguous environments
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in supply chain, business, or related field
Experience in a regulated, medical device, or healthcare distribution environment
Familiarity with 3PL contracts, SLA governance, and fleet lifecycle management
$102,600.00 - $222,300.00 salary plus bonus eligible + benefits. Individual pay is based on skills, experience, and other relevant factors.
