Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in Port Washington, New York. In this role, you will oversee key financial operations, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in reporting, compliance, and analysis. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the company’s financial success through leadership and strategic input.
Responsibilities:
• Prepare comprehensive accounting reports with appropriate documentation to support financial accuracy.
• Conduct detailed monthly account analyses to maintain precision in reporting.
• Examine financial data and provide summaries of the organization’s financial health.
• Recommend strategies to enhance operational efficiency and optimize expenditures.
• Collaborate on financial forecasting and standards-setting processes.
• Contribute to the development of departmental goals and objectives.
• Compile financial statement workpapers to facilitate audits.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of state, sales, and use tax returns.
• Manage and support the month-end and year-end closing processes. Requirements • A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or financial management.
• Proficiency in managing month-end close processes and maintaining general ledger accuracy.
• Expertise in conducting financial statement audits and preparing supporting documentation.
• Strong skills in account reconciliation and journal entry preparation.
• Ability to analyze financial data and propose actionable insights.
• Familiarity with tax filing requirements, including state, sales, and use taxes.
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
