Palmer College of Chiropractic Academic Technology & Operations Specialist in Port Orange, Florida
The Academic Technology & Operations Specialist provides advanced administrative, operational, and technical support to the Dean of Academic Affairs, Associate Deans, and faculty. This role serves as a key liaison for academic operations, coordinating projects, streamlining workflows, and supporting instructional technology needs within the goals of CTL (Center for Teaching and Learning) which include, but are not limited to, assistance with the LMS (Learning Management System) D2L/Brightspace, ExamSoft reporting and access features, as well as Complete Anatomy and efficient use of college supported Artificial Intelligence.
The Operations Specialist applies strong organizational, communication, and technical skills to ensure the smooth functioning of Academic Affairs initiatives and services.
Administrative & Operational Support
Provide high-level administrative support to the Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Deans, including calendar management, SharePoint and One Drive file management, meeting coordination, and correspondence.
Coordinate academic affairs projects, track progress, prepare reports, presentations, and documentation.
Assist with policy implementation, accreditation documentation, and other academic compliance activities.
Support academic committees, including scheduling, agenda preparation, uploading and organization of minutes, and follow-up meetings or action items.
Serve as a primary point of contact for internal and external stakeholders on behalf of Academic Affairs leadership.
Technology & Instructional Support
Provide frontline, on-campus, support for instructional technologies, including the learning management system (LMS), ExamSoft, classroom technologies, and educational software.
In alignment with the Palmer Main campus CTL, assist with the adoption and effective use of instructional technology tools.
Collaborate with IT and academic departments to troubleshoot technology issues and ensure smooth instructional delivery.
Alongside the Palmer Main campus CTL, this position supports digital resource development, including high quality educational online course materials, presentations, and training documentation.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and recommend technology solutions that enhance efficiency.
Project & Process Management
Coordinate cross-departmental projects to support institutional goals related to teaching, learning, and academic operations.
Monitor workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency in Academic Affairs operations.
Qualifications
Position Requirements:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in education, business, information technology, or related field.
Strong administrative and organizational skills, with experience supporting senior leadership.
Demonstrated proficiency with office productivity software (Microsoft Office suite including file management on Sharepoint) and learning management systems.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, on-campus, academic environment.
Preferred Position Candidates will have:
Formal Training as an Educator: Teaching Experience in K12 and/or Higher Education
Experience working with Higher Education Leaders
Master’s degree in education, instructional design, or business-related field.
Familiarity with instructional design and UDL principles, D2L Brightspace, ExamSoft
Familiarity supporting the integration of Artificial Intelligence with higher education initiatives
Experience with project coordination and process improvement planning.
