Aerotek Maintenance Technician in Port Huron, Michigan

Job Title: Maintenance Technicain

Job Description

  • The Maintenance Technician works as part of the maintenance team and is responsible for the repair and upkeep of industrial production machinery in a high-volume manufacturing environment

  • This role focuses on performing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs on automated equipment, including waterjets, conveyors, stamping cells, and other production machines, with a strong emphasis on preventive maintenance and rapid response to machine downtime

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance on industrial production machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment life

  • Respond promptly to down-machine calls and diagnose the root cause of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic issues

  • Repair and rebuild hydraulic components, including pumps, cylinders/rams, and lines, to restore safe and reliable operation

  • Troubleshoot and repair automated machinery such as waterjets, conveyors, stamping cells, and other production equipment

  • Independently troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on production equipment, or work with robotic teach points if that is your primary strength

  • Perform mechanical repairs on equipment components, including replacement, adjustment, and alignment of parts as needed

  • Use troubleshooting skills to quickly identify faults and implement effective solutions to support continuous production

  • Conduct first-week responsibilities such as performing preventive maintenance tasks and answering down-machine calls with minimal supervision

Essential Skills

  • At least 4 recent years of experience in machine repair in an industrial or manufacturing environment

  • Strong hydraulic experience, including repairing and rebuilding pumps, cylinders/rams, and hydraulic lines

  • Ability to independently troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on industrial machinery or experience with robotic teach points

  • Hands-on experience performing mechanical repairs on production equipment such as conveyors, stamping cells, and automated machinery

  • Demonstrated troubleshooting skills for complex mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on a wide range of industrial production machines

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with stamping or injection molding equipment.

  • Welding skills for repair and fabrication tasks.

  • Tooling experience related to stamping cells or similar production equipment.

  • Experience working with Fanuc systems or similar industrial automation technologies.

  • Background as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing setting.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills to coordinate with other maintenance technicians across multiple shifts.

  • Willingness to participate in additional technical training, including electrical and PLC classes.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Port Huron, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $32.00/hr.
