Office of Naval Research SUPPLY SYSTEM ANALYST in Port Hueneme, California

Summary This position is located at the Naval Research Laboratory in Port Hueneme, CA. This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Responsibilities You will serve as the primary point of contact for all shipping functions; following Federal, Navy and local command policies to ensure items are securely packaged and protected during transit. You will adhere to procedures for handling hazardous materials, fragile items, or other sensitive cargo to minimize risks during shipping. You will provide oversight in, conducting receipt inspections, acceptance and delivery of purchased materials and equipment to customers and entry of status/location into Logistics Inventory Control Support System (LICSS). You will consult with supervisory personnel with regard to warehouse management and implements necessary protocols. You will handle Purchase Requests at various stages of processing to gather and present meaningful information for decision-making. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05/10 grade level or NO-02 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all the following duties: 1) Develop and present statistical data and narrative information relating to quality control and performance improvement; 2) Knowledge and experience in inventory control and records management utilizing automated supply systems; 3) Knowledge of Government Purchase Card Program and regulations; 4) Ability to effectively communicate ideas verbally and in writing. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education The following education may be substituted in order to meet the Minimum Qualifications for this position: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; or Successful completion of 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or Successful completion of an LL.M., if related; or An equivalent combination of graduate education and experience. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
