JOB TITLE: Guest Services & Evening Coordinator
JOB STATUS: Part-Time/Full-Time -- Non-exempt
SHIFT: 3:00 PM -- 8:00 PM
REPORTS TO: Hotel General Manager
SALARY RANGE: $20.00 - $22.00 (DOE) + tips
MISSION: To strengthen community through housing, advocacy, and human services supporting social and economic independence.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Evening Coordinator is responsible for providing a seamless arrival experience and ensuring the property is secure and well-supported through the evening. This role balances guest hospitality with administrative coordination, requiring regular communication with the Events Manager for evening activities and the Maintenance team for urgent facility needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Check-In & Concierge: Serve as the primary point of contact for afternoon arrivals. Manage check-ins, provide property tours, and assist with guest inquiries or concierge needs.
- Internal Communication: Verify guest food allergies or sensitivities and formally communicate them to the morning shift.
- Inter-Departmental Support: Collaborate with the Events Manager to support onsite events and coordinate with Maintenance and other Bayside staff to ensure the facility is functioning perfectly for overnight guests.
- Property Stewardship: Learn and share the history of the "Grand Dame" with guests. Conduct regular rounds to ensure the security and evening readiness of the home.
- Mission Advocacy: Educate guests on Bayside Housing & Services' relationship to the Starrett House and its mission of social and economic independence.
- Cross-Training: Participate in cross-training for the morning shift to ensure comprehensive knowledge of breakfast and housekeeping protocols.
Required Experience:
- Valid Food Handler's Card required.
- 2+ year of experience in hospitality or customer service.
- Willingness and ability to make sound judgments without on-site supervision.
- Strong history of reliability and dependability.
- Must pass a background check and maintain a clean driving record.

- Excellent oral and written communication skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to work independently while remaining a cohesive part of the Bayside team.
- Knowledge of (or a strong desire to learn) Victorian history and local Port Townsend attractions.
