LogistiQ Cost Analyst in Port Clinton, Ohio
JOB SUMMARY: As a Cost Accountant at LogistiQ, you will be a part of our accounting team. The ideal candidate is responsible for developing, analyzing, and reporting on cost data to ensure that financial records are accurate and comply with established accounting standards. This role plays a critical part in budgeting, cost management, and asset management within the organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Analyze production costs, overhead, and variances to provide detailed reports on cost performance.
- Prepare and present cost reports for management, highlighting key insights and trends.
- Oversees inventory accounting, including reconciliations & providing support to Operations with cycle count analysis and reporting.
- Ensure accurate valuation of inventory and report on inventory discrepancies.
- Identify opportunities for cost control and efficiency improvements.
- Implement and monitor cost-saving initiatives.
- Review and maintain standard costs for products by comparing actual manufacturing performance to standard and current costs.
- Update costs as necessary for changes in labor, materials, and overhead.
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
- Support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Work closely with production, procurement, and other departments to gather and analyze cost-related data.
- Provide financial guidance and support to other teams within the organization.
