FORT PECK INC General Manager in POPLAR, Montana

Position Summary:The General Manager (GM) will lead the day-to-day operations of the Poplar River Casino & Grill, a tribally owned enterprise of Fort Peck Inc. The GM will implement the business plan approved by the Board, ensuring the successful development, opening, and operation of a 9,600 sq. ft. casino with 125 gaming machines and an on-site grill. The GM will ensure operational excellence, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and a welcoming experience for all patrons.Key Responsibilities:Operations ManagementImplement and oversee all business plan elements including gaming, food and beverage, security, maintenance, and marketing.Ensure effective floor operations on the 4,800 sq. ft. gaming space with approx. 125 machines. Manage property amenities including the grill, break room, and signage visibility.Maintain high standards for safety, cleanliness, and customer service.Financial Oversight:Manage departmental and operating budgets, revenue goals, and cost controls.Monitor performance against projected revenues and ensure efficient cash flow.Staff Management:Hire, train, and supervise casino and grill employees per the approved staffing plan.Oversee Assistant Manager, Kitchen/Grill Manager, security, IT, and maintenanceMarketing & Customer Engagement:Execute a marketing strategy for both local residents and regional travelers.Implement signage and digital outreach.Develop promotions, player rewards programs, and brand awareness campaigns.Compliance & Tribal Oversight:Ensure full compliance with tribal, state, and federal gaming laws and regulations.Serve as the primary liaison with the Fort Peck Gaming Commission and Tribal Executive Board.Submit required reports and seek prior approval for non-ordinary business expenses.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field.Minimum 5 years of management experience in a Class II/III casino or gaming environment.Strong understanding of tribal enterprise operations and community engagement.Ability to pass a background check and obtain a Tribal Gaming License.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience working for or with tribal governments or corporations.Familiarity with Montana’s gaming market and Indian gaming compacts.Knowledge of digital and regional marketing best practices.Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
