Job Title: CNC Machinist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate, set up, and adjust various CNC machines, including lathes and mills, as well as other CNC-controlled equipment. The role involves working with both vertical and horizontal multi-axis CNC machines.
Responsibilities
Perform setup and operation of CNC mills and lathe machines.
Install and adjust fixtures, tooling, and load raw materials into the machine.
Adjust machine controls to ensure proper alignment and operation.
Interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Conduct quality checks using hard gauges, calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools.
Perform in-process inspections to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
Conduct routine maintenance and cleaning of machines to ensure optimal performance.
Make necessary adjustments on the machine to ensure quality production.
Essential Skills
Previous experience in CNC machining, including mill, lathe, and grinder.
Proficiency in operating and making adjustments to CNC machines.
Ability to interpret and work from blueprints and technical drawings.
High attention to detail and ability to perform precise quality checks.
Experience using quality tools and gauges.

Work Environment
This position is for the 3rd shift with occasional overtime. The role is based in an onsite machining environment with potential assignment to various machines, including Machining Centers, Milling Centers, and Lathes. The job requires high attention to detail due to long cycle times and repetitive tasks. Be prepared for tool changes and quality checks at regular intervals. Flexibility to work on any assigned machine and shift is essential.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pontiac, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $29.00/hr.
