Overall Description
Seasoned GM with proven success in consistently delivering profitable growth whilst building progressively larger Commercial organisations in emerging markets.
Managing headcount of at least 100+/business size $67MM+.
Career history spanning combination of Sales and Marketing leadership in MNC within highly matrixed environments.
Understand the business context, i.e. payer systems, customers, local market and competition
Translate and adapt the division strategy into an operations plan/business model for the local market that can be seamlessly handed off to his/her successor; balances short and long-term planning
Articulate the plan in a way that motivates and inspires the team to own and execute it, while continuously role-modeling and reinforcing Abbott’s culture
Leverage the plan to create meaningful, actionable individual and team goals
Acquire, allocate and sustain the necessary assets (people, materials, equipment) to achieve the current and longer-term plan and strategy
Execute the plan: set KPIs, priorities and measurement / performance systems, manage resources, and make adjustments
Build lasting collaborative relationships with, and influence internal stakeholders including other Abbott GMs
Successfully interact with and influence a variety of external stakeholders (governments, regulatory agencies, associations, etc); builds and sustains Abbott’s reputation
Hire, develop, inspire, encourage and retain talent
Navigate complex and changing compliance and regulatory environments; actively influence relationships with regulatory/compliance entities

Used to working in complex, often volatile environments , managing the ambiguity which exists in developing economies where governments and regulatory bodies make frequent changes.

Demonstrated effective cross-cultural leadership impact
Influential style in managing needs and expectations of internal stakeholders ( e.g. functional & Senior Leaders) to position the needs of the affiliate while balancing the overall needs of the ANI organization.
Proven management of external stakeholders (e.g. regulatory/compliance entities, governments, associations) in pre-emptively positioning the goals of the organization and inversely, possesses skilful management of issues/events when they unexpectedly impact the brands or the organization.
Go to market Experience
Previously successfully managed companies/categories which leverage the HCP/Consumer business influencer model
Detailed understanding of how modern trade is evolving in emerging markets-evidence of growing this channel while balancing lower trade (which is still a significant proportion of the business)
Media management/marketing
-Experienced in media relations with direct media engagement as well as pre-emptive management of this key channel.
-Able to decide amongst options, balance, plan weights and execute ATL tactics for differing portfolios.
Managing multiple portfolios (all of whom have additional resource requirements and potential) to ensure priorities are set with the right focus within the team. Making allocation decisions while keeping teams aligned and motivated.
