Job Description

The Senior RN Floater provides exceptional nursing care and life enrichment services across multiple residential homes. This role supports the organization in Direct Nursing, Nurse Case Management, and staff Training functions.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced RN who enjoys variety, leadership, and mentoring others while maintaining hands-on clinical practice.

Typical schedule:

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 6:30am–2:30pm

  • Wednesday: 9:30am–5:30pm

  • Occasional Saturdays for Medication Administration training

  • Flexible hours, including occasional weekends or overnights as needed

    Clinical Excellence

  • Administer medications and treatments; monitor health status

  • Complete head-to-toe assessments each shift

  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation in eMAR and related systems

  • Monitor compliance with physician orders, DHS licensing, and ICF regulations

  • Respond to health emergencies and provide leadership during crises

    Nurse Case Management Support

  • Develop and monitor health care plans

  • Participate in IDT meetings and present annual Health Summaries

  • Complete quarterly and annual health evaluations

  • Participate in on-call rotation

    Training & Leadership

  • Provide Medication Administration and advanced medical skills training

  • Coach and mentor nurses and DSPs

  • Monitor delegated nursing tasks

  • Support orientation and ongoing staff development

    Life Enrichment

  • Support individuals in making their own choices and pursuing their goals

  • Encourage community inclusion, outings, and meaningful activities

  • Partner with families and guardians to ensure coordinated care

Requirements

  • Active RN license in Minnesota

  • Active CPR and First Aid certification

  • Minimum one year of experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and complex medical needs

  • Valid Minnesota Driver’s License with acceptable record

  • DHS background clearance

  • Ability to lift and transfer up to 60 lbs
