Position Overview:
As the Purchasing Supervisor for Service Parts, you will lead and guide a dedicated team to deliver best-in-class customer availability while maintaining disciplined inventory efficiency. You will partner closely with demand planning analysts and category leaders to set execution priorities, drive continuous improvement, and communicate performance outcomes to leadership. This role offers a compelling opportunity to exercise direct people leadership and process ownership while impacting the operational efficiency of a global supply chain.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, coach, and develop the purchasing team to achieve primary goals for customer fill rates and inventory turn performance.
Partner cross-functionally with Category, Planning, and Logistics teams to ensure material availability and support organizational revenue and profit goals.
Manage purchase order execution and daily workflows to improve process efficiency and system performance.
Collaborate with suppliers and internal partners to resolve delivery, quality, and performance issues to prevent critical shortages.
Oversee the accuracy of supplier master data, including terms, lead times, and pricing, to ensure operational integrity.
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, such as capacity constraints and lead time variability, through proactive planning.
Partner with suppliers through scorecards and business reviews to drive performance improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Develop and implement controls and solutions to reduce financial risks associated with excess and obsolete inventory.
Communicate key performance metrics, risks, and trends to Supply Chain and leadership through maintained KPI dashboards.
Guide the adoption of new capabilities within demand planning and purchasing systems to drive departmental accuracy.
Provide day-to-day guidance and develop standard work protocols to ensure consistent team execution.
Lead special projects related to business changes, including plant openings, product retirements, and lifetime buy strategies.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in Inventory Management, Sourcing, Materials Management, Procurement, or Purchasing.
Demonstrated experience leading teams and a proven track record of developing professional talent.
Deep understanding of supply chain cost drivers and their associated financial impacts.
Strong critical thinking skills with a proven capability for upstream problem solving.
Ability to prioritize and execute effectively within a dynamic corporate environment.
Knowledge of Lean methodologies is preferred.
Ability to travel up to 10%.

The starting pay range for Minnesota is $93,905 to $123,250 per year. Individual salaries and positioning within the range are determined through a wide variety of factors, including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills, and geography. While individual pay could fall anywhere in the range based on these factors, it is not common to start at the high end or top of the range.
