Job Title: Cleanroom Production Operator
Job Description
The Cleanroom Production Operator works within a modern cleanroom environment in one of three areas—Trimming, Molding, or Mill/Mix—to support the manufacturing of high-quality silicone and plastic components for medical devices. This role involves operating specialized equipment, performing precise manual tasks, and conducting detailed inspections to ensure all products meet strict process and quality standards.
Responsibilities
Operate molding equipment to produce silicone and plastic components according to established process and quality standards.
Set up, operate, and monitor molding presses or injection molding machines to maintain consistent production.
Load raw materials into molding equipment and safely remove molded parts upon completion of each cycle.
Perform basic inspections of molded parts to verify conformance to specifications and identify obvious defects.
Accurately document production data, including quantities, machine settings, and any deviations from standard processes.
Report process issues, equipment malfunctions, or quality concerns promptly to support timely resolution.
Trim flash and excess material from molded parts using appropriate hand tools to achieve required dimensions and finish.
Perform detailed visual inspections of molded components using a microscope to identify defects such as tears, bubbles, or incomplete fill.
Prepare and process raw silicone and plastic materials by weighing and mixing them according to batch records and formulas.
Operate mixing and milling equipment to create consistent compounds used in medical device manufacturing.
Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with cleanroom standards and production procedures.
Follow all cleanroom protocols, safety guidelines, and quality procedures throughout each stage of production.
Essential Skills
Experience working in a cleanroom production or manufacturing environment.
Ability to operate production equipment such as molding presses, injection molding machines, mixers, and mills.
Proficiency in performing visual inspections, including microscope inspection of small components.
Strong hand dexterity and fine motor skills for trimming, assembly, and detailed manual work.
Familiarity with basic production documentation and the ability to record accurate production data.
Understanding of quality standards in a medical device or similar regulated production environment.
Ability to follow written batch records, formulas, and work instructions precisely.
Attention to detail to identify cosmetic and functional defects in molded parts.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Previous experience in medical assembly or medical device production.
Background in assembly or production roles involving silicone or plastic components.
Comfort working with microscopes and other inspection tools for small parts.
Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented cleanroom setting.
Willingness to learn and rotate between Trimming, Molding, and Mill/Mix departments as needed.

Work Environment
This role is based in a very clean, well-lit, and modern cleanroom facility that was newly built in 2021 and continues to expand. The environment is climate controlled to support both product quality and employee comfort. You will work with molding presses, injection molding machines, mixers, mills, microscopes, and various hand tools in a production setting that follows strict cleanroom protocols. Expect to wear appropriate cleanroom attire and follow gowning procedures to maintain a controlled and contamination-free workspace.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
