LOC Performance Products, Inc Product Development Intern in Plymouth, Michigan

Job Summary:

The Product Development Intern will perform fundamental engineering and data processing tasks associated with the design, development and testing of mechanical systems. Typical design products include Driveline (rotary machine), Suspension (Track and Wheel), and Power Conversion. This internship provides hands-on experience in Computer Aided Design/Engineering (CAD/CAE) and other engineering analyses.

*Position is located onsite in Plymouth, MI.

Essential Functions:

  • Responsible for technical accuracy of engineering definition/documentation prepared for assigned projects

  • Design of Structural components and/or test fixtures

  • Document/report results of mechanical design analyses using Microsoft office products

  • Support the execution of the design verification plan, validating design against the customer requirements

  • Support the drawing review process

  • Interaction with manufacturing engineering and quality to assure manufacturability of designed hardware

  • Support prototype fabrication and test

  • Support major design review preparation for customer milestone meetings

Supervisory Responsibilities:

No supervisory responsibility

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Attention to detail and organizational ability.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced engineering environment.

Education & Experience

  • Pursuing a bachelor’s degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • High School diploma or GED

Background Prerequisites:

Must undergo and meet company standards for background check, employment verification, reference checks, physical, and controlled substance testing.
