We are seeking a dedicated Lab Technician to perform laboratory testing on chemical products. The role involves entering quality and testing data into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), maintaining documentation, and managing inventory for laboratory supplies. Additionally, you will be responsible for storing, retrieving, and disposing of retains according to protocol, maintaining and cleaning lab equipment, and managing waste disposal.
Responsibilities
Perform laboratory testing on chemical products.
Enter quality and testing data into LIMS and file necessary paperwork.
Maintain all documentation, files, and data accurately.
Stock and maintain inventory for laboratory supplies needed for quality testing.
Store, retrieve, and dispose of retains according to protocol.
Empty flammable waste receptacles and maintain waste drums.
Maintain and clean lab equipment and reagents as required.
Essential Skills
Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or a related field, or an Associate's degree in a scientific field.
Experience in laboratory testing, quality control, and documentation.
Knowledge of wet chemistry, titration, and analytical chemistry.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Proficiency in using GC and IR equipment.
Understanding of Safety Data Sheets and regulatory aspects.
Ability to learn and perform basic troubleshooting and equipment setups.
Work Environment
This role is based in a chemical laboratory where you will work Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The lab environment is collaborative, with opportunities to work on both lab and office quality tasks. You will rotate through different sections of the lab to gain comprehensive experience, following structured SOPs and step-by-step instructions. The position involves occasional visits to production areas or rail cars for sample testing. The lab emphasizes safety, especially when handling volatile chemicals. You will be part of a tight-knit team within a mid-sized, family-owned company, with career progression opportunities in various departments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pleasant Prairie, WI.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $19.00/hr.
