GENERAL SUMMARY:
Supervises the work activity of service workers to ensure clean, orderly, and attractive conditions in the hospital. Coordinates activities of the Environmental Services Department with other hospital departments. Participates in training, directing, and scheduling of service workers. Is involved with special projects to include writing reports, justifications, policies and procedures, and record maintenance. Receives education and provides oversite for ongoing frontline staff orientation and education on hazardous materials and waste handling where applicable.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma required.
Associates Degree or active enrollment with completion of certification preferred.
Must have valid NYS Driver's license and be insurable.
IEHA, CHESP certification or enrollment to begin within 6 mos of hire with completion within 2 years preferred.
Three (3) years prior work experience in management/supervision required.
Familiar with daily routines of an Environmental Service Worker or comparable service line work (i.e. hotel, school) preferred.
Working knowledge/experience of equipment associated with Environmental Service department required.
Three (3) years experience with MS Office required.
As applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
