Actalent Data Entry Pharmacy Technician in Plantation, Florida

The Pharmacy Technician will play a critical role in ensuring exceptional customer service and operational efficiency. You will respond to both inbound and outbound calls to customers, providing timely and accurate information about pharmacy services, delivery inquiries, and assisting with refills. You will be responsible for addressing and resolving customer complaints, verifying insurance coverage, and facilitating prior authorization requests. Additionally, you will accurately transcribe prescriptions, generate reports, coordinate deliveries, and serve as the primary contact for service-related inquiries. This position also requires maintaining patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to inbound and outbound calls to provide information and resolve customer inquiries regarding pharmacy services.

  • Verify insurance coverage and facilitate prior authorization requests.

  • Accurately transcribe prescriptions and generate reports following the cycle fill calendar.

  • Coordinate delivery and serve as the first point of contact for service-related inquiries.

  • Support pharmacological services by editing fill list verification, including insurance information and billing.

  • Enter patient information into patient records accurately and completely, maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations.

Essential Skills

  • Pharmacy technician certification

  • 2+ years of experience as a pharmacy technician

  • Strong data entry and typing skills

  • Valid Florida Pharmacy Technician License

  • Completion of a board-approved pharmacy technician training program

  • Advanced skill in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong commitment to teamwork and flexibility

  • Time management skills

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred

  • DME experience preferred

  • Telephonic customer service experience

  • Prior authorization experience

Work Environment

The position is 100% onsite in a specialty pharmacy attached to a community clinic. You will be part of a team environment consisting of four technicians and one pharmacist. The role involves a high-volume filling environment, handling 100-150 prescriptions per pharmacy team per day, supporting four local pharmacies. The shift is Monday through Thursday, with Fridays from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm, including an hour of unpaid lunch, which can be shortened to maximize pay. The opportunity offers a chance to become a permanent employee, with benefits such as a 9% 401k match and tuition forgiveness once permanent, along with six paid federal holidays while on contract.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
