What you will do – Essential Responsibilities
Helping to develop and innovate on CarMax’s auction website
Collaborate with colleagues in product design, product management and systems architecture to develop experimental solutions and bring great ideas to life.
Market your innovative ideas internally and evolve them according to feedback and critique within an agile environment.
Stay on top of industry trends and best practice to continuously improve what we do and ensure our customer experience is the best it can be.

Qualifications and Requirements
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, a related field, or equivalent alternative education, skills, and/or practical experience is required
Strong teamwork skills, ability to learn quickly, excellent written and spoken communication required.
7+ years of application development experience required.
Experience in the following Required
5+ years of experience with .NET Core/C#/Microsoft Azure offerings
Experience with modern frontend build tooling (Vite, Webpack, or similar)
Knowledge of SQL Server and NoSQL database technologies
Experience collaborating with multiple teams in a complex technical environment
Experience working with Agile and DevOps methodologies
Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs
Strong experience with React.js and its core principles (hooks, context, component lifecycle)
Proficiency with HTML/CSS and responsive design principles
Experience with Git workflows (branching strategies, pull requests, code reviews)
Experience in the following Preferred
Experience working within a product organization
Experience with module federation or micro frontend architectures
Experience with Azure Static Web Apps and Azure Storage deployment patterns
Familiarity with reverse proxy technologies (YARP, nginx, or similar)
Experience with authentication patterns (OAuth, OIDC, cookie-based auth)
Knowledge of Vitest or other modern JavaScript testing frameworks
Experience with RS Build or similar module federation build tools
Understanding of monolith-to-microservice decomposition strategies
Work Location and Arrangement:
West Creek: This role will be based out of the CarMax Home Office at West Creek (Richmond, VA) and associates will work onsite 5 days per week
OR
Plano: This role will be based out of the CarMax Dallas Tech Hub (Plano, TX) and associates will work onsite 2 days per week
Work Authorization: Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. Sponsorship will not be considered for this specific role.
