Insight Global Data Engineer / Analyst (Coupa DataGuru → Databricks): INTL in Plano, Texas
Job Description
A fortune 100 client is seeking to increase their team in India by 2. They are seeking hands-on data engineer to support the refactoring and migration of existing data transformations built in the Coupa Data Guru tool into Databricks. This role will focus on translating legacy ETL logic, complex mappings, and data preparation workflows into scalable, well-governed Databricks pipelines.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze and reverse engineer existing Coupa Data Guru transformations and mappings‑engineer existing
Rebuild and optimize equivalent transformations in Databricks (SQL / PySpark)
Validate outputs to ensure parity with legacy Data Guru–produced datasets
Collaborate with data modelers, analysts, and SMEs to clarify business logic and data rules
Support data quality checks, reconciliation, and documentation during migration
Contribute to the decommissioning of Data Guru–dependent flows as part of platform transition

Skills and Requirements
Strong experience with Databricks (Spark SQL, PySpark)
Solid background in data transformation, ETL/ELT, and refactoring legacy logic
Ability to interpret and translate transformations from low‑/no‑code ETL tools
Experience working with complex relational datasets and large‑scale tables, applying data quality and related business rules.
Experience with supply chain processes or systems, manufacturing systems, ERP systems, systems of record, master data, record-to-planning, or optimization modelling data.
Ability to generate test scripts that automate error detection through comparison of new outputs and legacy data. Prior exposure to Coupa / Data Guru / Supply Chain Guru environments
Experience supporting data platform migrations or legacy tool sunset initiatives
Knowledge of data governance, reconciliation, and validation practices in enterprise environments
Advance data profiling and AI code generation skills that help speed up the coding process, where they can add value.
