Overview:Veeco is seeking an ambitious Field Service Engineer eagerto learn Veeco's technology and drive customer satisfaction through support. The successful candidate will be responsible for installation, calibration, preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and VeecoWet Processingequipment. Responsibilities:Perform activities during installation, upgrade, testing, warranty, and repair of equipment, following up all customer's and Veeco's protocols related to safety and securityIsolate and resolve equipment and systems malfunctions and take corrective actionAssist with the implementation of new processes, methods, and designsDevelop relationships with the customer to ensure high customer satisfaction and retentionServe as contact for onsite activities, communications, and provide support in all matters related to the equipment, technical, and field aspects for Veeco customersReport all tool actions/events and daily activities in field service reportsAdhere to safety and confidentiality policies Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical area and a minimum of 2 years of experience is required. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Military training and experience are welcome. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must possess a positive attitude and excellent communication skills with the ability to speak with clarity and interface effectively with customer, management, and peersKnowledge of electronics, mechanics, pneumatics, robotics, and computer controlsSystem integration, test, and debug skillsExperience with Semiconductor industry safety requirements and clean room environmentDisplays broad-based customer focus and commitment to resolve problems and make decisions based on the priority of the problem in relation to business needsAbility to build excellent customer relationshipsAttention to detail and accuracyAbility to work under pressure to meet support deadlines in a multi-tasking environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPointAble to travel extensively within North America to perform Field Service duties. Occasional international travel will be required. Physical Job Requirements: Must be able to lift at least 50 lbsNeeds to be able to perform repetitive tasks while sitting or standingMust be able to use standard hand tools and standard office equipmentMust be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for several hours in a workday if needed.
