HOURS: 40 hours per week; Monday-Friday (in-person)
ANNUAL SALARY: $41,000 (without CDL); $43,000 (with CDL)

As a Laborer/Trainee in the Plainsboro Township Department of Public Works, you will help maintain the excellent quality of life of township residents by maintaining roads, storm drains, parks and recreational facilities, and township buildings. We will provide training for you to perform the following duties: • Operate both light and heavy-duty single axle trucks, backhoe, and loaders for various daily assignments that can include brush collection, leaf collection, snow removal and hauling materials to job sites. • Operate turf mowing equipment and all power attachments required for park, ballfield and landscape maintenance • Wash and service Township vehicles • Maintain municipal rights-of-way and easements; duties include but are not limited to storm drain repairs, cleaning, debris removal, plant and/or prune trees, shrubbery & flowers • Install and repair street and highway signs. • Repair road beds including asphalt, shoulders and storm drainage pipes. Requirements: • Valid driver’s license with good driving record • Must obtain CDL Class A with air brake endorsement or obtain within 1 year of hire. The Township will provide training and reimbursement for the cost of the test, as well as providing opportunities to take the test on Township time. • Ability and desire to work outdoors in all types of weather. • Ability to perform tasks requiring heavy physical labor often for prolonged periods under adverse weather conditions
