JOB SUMMARY:
The Systems Administrator supports the IT department in the maintenance, troubleshooting, and overall management of the company’s technology infrastructure. This role is ideal for an individual seeking hands-on experience in an enterprise IT environment while contributing to day-to-day operations.
In collaboration with the IT Director and internal stakeholders, the Systems Administrator provides support for Windows endpoints, mobile devices, servers, network infrastructure, printers, websites, security systems, and Microsoft 365 services, ensuring systems remain secure, efficient, and reliable.
KEY RESPONSABILITIES:
End-User Support
Provide hardware and software support for Windows PCs, including setup, troubleshooting, and regular
maintenance.
Support end users with iPhone/iOS device setup, troubleshooting, and configuration.
Perform Windows and Active Directory password resets and assist users with access issues.
Provide basic printer support to end users, including troubleshooting connectivity and driver issues.
Respond to IT support requests in a timely and professional manner.
Printer & Peripheral Support
Manage and support network printers via the print server, including adding/removing printers, updating drivers,
and resolving print queue issues.
Assist users with printer installation and troubleshooting on their workstations.
Maintain printer availability and escalate complex hardware issues to vendors when needed.
Server & Infrastructure Support
Assist in basic server hardware and operating system support tasks under the direction of the IT Director.
Help monitor and maintain server performance and availability.
Support networking infrastructure including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points (basic
troubleshooting, monitoring, and configuration tasks).
Asset & System Management
Track and manage IT assets using AssetTiger (hardware inventory, assignment, lifecycle tracking).
Help maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of IT assets and configurations.
Office 365 Administration
Manage user accounts and licensing within the Office 365 admin portal.
Assist with administration tasks including enabling and enforcing multi-factor authentication (2FA).
Support Exchange Online, Teams, and SharePoint user management.
Help monitor Office 365 service health and apply basic remediation steps as needed.
Mobile Device Management (MDM)
Use the company's MDM platform to push software and configurations to iPhones.
Assist in maintaining compliance and security policies on mobile devices.
Website & Security System Maintenance
Assist in maintaining and updating company websites, including coordination with hosting platforms and
applying content or security updates as directed.
Provide basic support for the company's security camera system, including monitoring status, troubleshooting
connectivity issues, and working with vendors for escalations.
Software Administration
Assist in administering and maintaining all company software platforms, including but not limited to:
PDF software (Foxit / Adobe)
Foundation Accounting Software
Bid2Win
ThreatDown (formerly Malwarebytes)
Support software installation, licensing, updates, and troubleshooting.
Maintain software inventory and ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required
Strong interest in IT infrastructure and system administration.
Familiarity with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Basic understanding of networking concepts (IP addressing, DNS, Wi-Fi, etc.).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred
Experience with Office 365 administration (user management, licensing, MFA).
Exposure to Active Directory environments.
Familiarity with print server management, asset tracking systems (e.g., AssetTiger), and MDM solutions.
Some hands-on experience with server hardware, networking equipment, or website management.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred
Equivalent combination of education, technical training, and hands-on experience will be considered
2–5 years of experience in systems administration or IT infrastructure support
Experience supporting Windows-based environments (Active Directory, Group Policy, Windows Server)
Experience with Microsoft 365 administration (Exchange, SharePoint, Teams, Entra ID/Azure AD)
Familiarity with networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, firewalls, VPNs)
Experience managing endpoints, mobile device management (MDM), and patch management
Basic understanding of cybersecurity best practices, backups, and disaster recovery
Experience troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues in a business environment
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Office-based role with standard working hours (some overtime may be required).
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
