Job Title: Construction Superintendent

Job Description

  • We are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team in Rochester, NY.

  • This role involves overseeing and managing all on-site construction activities, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

  • The successful candidate will lead the execution of a $6.8 million exterior restoration project at The Rundel Memorial Library, with an upcoming $17 million multifamily project in downtown Rochester starting in April/May 2026.

Responsibilities

  • Manage all on-site construction activities from project start through closeout.

  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and field labor.

  • Maintain project schedules and coordinate daily and weekly work plans.

  • Ensure construction is performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and company standards.

  • Identify and proactively resolve field issues to avoid delays or rework.

  • Enforce the company's safety program and maintain a clean, organized jobsite.

  • Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations.

  • Perform quality control inspections and verify work meets contract requirements.

  • Coordinate inspections with owners, architects, engineers, and authorities having jurisdiction.

  • Serve as the on-site representative with clients, inspectors, and design teams.

  • Maintain daily logs, progress photos, and field reports.

  • Coordinate RFIs, field changes, and constructability reviews with the Project Manager.

  • Participate in progress meetings and contribute to project reporting.

  • Track progress against the schedule and assist with recovery planning when needed.

  • Coordinate punch list activities and project closeout.

  • Ensure timely completion of final inspections, documentation, and turnover.

Essential Skills

  • 5+ years of experience as a Construction Superintendent on commercial projects.

  • Strong knowledge of construction means and methods across multiple trades.

  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors and manage multiple jobsite priorities.

  • Thorough understanding of safety regulations and quality control practices.

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with ground-up and/or renovation commercial projects.

  • OSHA 30 certification.

  • Proficiency with construction technology (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, or similar).

  • Background working with owners, architects, and inspectors in a client-facing role.

Work Environment

  • This position requires a regular presence on active construction jobsites in Rochester, NY, with occasional travel or extended hours based on project needs.

  • The role demands adherence to safety protocols and involves physical presence in various weather conditions.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pittsford, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $60.00/hr.
