Monday - Friday 1pm to 6pm
$18.50/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership
The Birthday & Groups Coordinator is responsible for the comprehensive planning, coordination, and execution of birthday parties and group visits, ensuring a well-organized and positive experience for all participants. This position requires consistent demonstration of YMCA leadership competencies and a commitment to upholding the mission, values, and professional image of the YMCA of Greater Rochester.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute birthday parties and group visits from start to finish.
· Collaborate with the Camp Director to develop and manage weekly staff schedules for events.
· Communicate with group leaders and birthday families prior to events to confirm details and ensure a smooth experience.
· Maintain appropriate inventory levels and order supplies to support multiple events per day.
· Set up and break down event spaces, ensuring readiness, cleanliness, and efficiency for each program.
· Actively engage with children, families, and groups to create a welcoming, fun, and inclusive atmosphere.
· Maintain accurate records of bookings, completed events, and related transactions.
· Deliver exceptional customer service to members, participants, and guests at all times.
· Support overall facility cleanliness, organization, and safety.
· Assist with Annual Campaign activities and other YMCA initiatives.
· Attend all required meetings and trainings and maintain necessary certifications.
· Perform additional duties as assigned to support the overall camp operations.
Requirements
· Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
· Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience required.
· Prior experience in a high-volume, member-focused environment preferred.
· Demonstrated attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of service and facility presentation.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
· Proven ability to work independently and manage responsibilities efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
· Basic computer proficiency required.
· CPR/AED and First Aid certifications required, or the ability to obtain such certifications within 60 days of hire.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to sit or stand for extended duration of shift.
· Must be able to bend and stoop frequently.
· Must be able to move within building including floor to floor and around camp property.
· Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Salary Description
$18.50 per hour
