A privately held and leading injection molding company is actively seeking a Process Lead Technician. This position will be headquartered in Pittsfield, MA, reporting directly to the Plant Manager. The successful candidate will be a vital part of the production team, responsible for optimizing and developing molding processes to ensure quality and efficiency. This is a 1st Shift, full-time position with compensated overtime required periodically to meet production needs. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES - Process Development: Design and implement robust molding processes for new injection molds, ensuring compliance with industry best practices. - Training & Mentorship: Provide guidance and training to fellow technicians and machine operators on established molding processes and techniques. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with Engineering, Toolroom, Quality Assurance, and Production teams to maintain stable and efficient molding operations, guaranteeing the production of high-quality parts. - Machinery Management: Oversee the start-up and shutdown of injection molding machinery, heater boxes, cooling systems, and associated equipment to achieve optimal operational efficiencies. - Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and resolve molding process variances using established process controls to maintain or enhance product quality. - Maintenance Duties: Conduct routine maintenance on molds and machinery, ensuring equipment is operating at peak efficiency. - Documentation: Maintain accurate production paperwork, including setup sheets, water diagrams, and mold setup checklists for respective shifts. - Process Improvement: Collaborate with production supervisors and operators to refine product flow, enhance quality, and minimize scrap rates. QUALIFICATIONS - Education: Associate degree or technical training certificate in a relevant field, or equivalent practical experience. - Experience: Minimum of 5 years in a plastic injection molding environment with proven expertise in process optimization. - Technical Skills: Proficient in reading measuring devices and interpreting engineering designs and blueprints. - Soft Skills: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is a plus. - Computer Skills: Basic computer proficiency required; experience with Microsoft Office or CAD/CAM software is a plus. - Requirements: Must pass a pre-placement drug test. Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently is required.
