About the Role Bousquet Sport is seeking a strong, organized, and hands-on Head Camp Counselor to lead daily camp operations and ensure a safe, structured, and high-quality experience for both campers and staff. This role serves as the on-site leader, overseeing counselors and junior counselors, managing day-to-day execution, and acting as the primary point of contact for camp operations. What You\'ll Do Staff Leadership & Oversight - Supervise, support, and coach Camp Counselors and Junior Counselors - Provide real-time direction, feedback, and problem-solving throughout the day - Ensure proper staffing coverage, transitions, and organization - Reinforce expectations for professionalism, safety, and engagement Camper Safety & Compliance - Ensure all safety protocols and Massachusetts camp licensing regulations (105 CMR 430.000) are followed - Maintain proper staff-to-camper ratios and active supervision at all times - Oversee attendance tracking, documentation, and camper records - Respond to and manage incidents, injuries, or emergencies - Support compliance with health forms, medication protocols, and required documentation Program Execution - Oversee daily schedules and ensure activities run smoothly and on time - Troubleshoot issues and adjust programming as needed - Maintain consistency and quality across all camp experiences - Communicate updates, challenges, and needs to leadership - Support communication with parents as needed - Maintain organization and readiness of camp spaces and materials What We\'re Looking For - Prior experience working with children in a camp, recreation, or educational setting (required) - Previous leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience (preferred) - Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills - Ability to lead in a fast-paced, dynamic environment - Confident decision-maker with a hands-on leadership style Requirements - CPR / First Aid / AED Certification (required prior to or shortly after hire) - Successful completion of CORI/SORI background checks - Ability to meet all Massachusetts Department of Public Health camp regulations (105 CMR 430.000) Physical Requirements - Ability to remain active and on your feet for extended periods - Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions - Frequent walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and reaching - Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (equipment and supplies) - Ability to respond quickly to camper needs, including short-distance running - Maintain strong visual and auditory awareness for active supervision Why Join Bousquet Sport? - Leadership role with meaningful impact on campers and staff - Opportunity to build management and operational experience - Collaborative, team-oriented environment - Be part of a growing, high-quality camp program - Pathway to future leadership opportunities within programming Schedule Expectations This is a full-time seasonal role aligned with camp programming schedules. Availability during weekdays is required, with flexibility to support staffing needs, extended days, or program demands.
