What You'll Do
Prepare and maintain a sterile operating room environment
Set up, operate, and ensure proper function of surgical instruments and equipment
Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments, handling supplies, and maintaining counts
Handle specimens, apply dressings, and assist with patient preparation and positioning
Support post-operative room turnover, safety, and aseptic standards

Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program (college, vocational school, hospital, or military)
0-2 years of experience requiredNo experience necessary - new graduates welcome!
Additional experience may qualify for Intermediate or Senior Surgical Technologist roles
Experience may include a variety of surgical specialties (General, Ortho, Neuro, OB/GYN, Vascular, etc.)
Certification & Education
CST or TSC certification required per state law
New grads may work up to 6 months prior to certification but must become certified within 6 months of program completion
Some staff may be grandfathered and exempt from certification requirements
Continuing Education:
Certified staff must meet credentialing CE requirements
Non-certified staff must complete 30 CE hours every 2 years
Licensure & Clearances
CPR/BLS (AHA) required within 30 days of hire
Act 34 Criminal Clearance (with renewal as required)
