UPMC Quality Improvement Specialist, Provider Performance (Hybrid)- Pittsburgh, PA in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
UPMC Health Plan has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Improvement Specialist, Provider Performance position in its Quality Improvement department, located in downtown Pittsburgh at the U.S. Steel Tower. This is a full time position working Monday through Friday daylight hours and is a hybrid position consisting of working from home and in office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Build valuable relationships with internal and external multidisciplinary teams utilizing clinical expertise, strong analytical skills, and incorporating clinical operations experience and quality improvement methodologies to achieve quality outcomes.
Serve as a quality liaison to external stakeholders participating in value-based quality incentive programs.
Provide clinical expertise in interpreting Value Based Program measures, performance trends, and improvement opportunities.
Plan and facilitate routine meetings, learning collaboratives, and performance review discussions with hospital and specialty programs leadership and clinical teams.
Foster collaborative relationships, promote transparency, trust, and shared accountability for performance.
Assist with program documentation, deliverables, and compliance with program requirements deliverable due dates.
Utilization of most up to date industry standards such as current clinical guidelines, state and federal quality requirements, and evolving value-based care models.
Ability to lead a quality improvement multidisciplinary workgroup.
Bachelor's degree in Nursing or related field required at time of hire/transfer.
Master's degree preferred.
Five years related experience required.
Knowledge of information systems and process improvement techniques.
Knowledge of effective in-person and virtual facilitation techniques.
Ability to lead cross-functional teams in continuous improvement efforts.
Ability to understand, interpret, and communicate with data.
Ability to establish and maintain positive, caring relationships with executives, managers, physicians, non-physician providers, ancillary and support staff, other departments, and patients/families.
Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities required as related to supporting and driving continuous improvement efforts within the health plan.
Ability to work productively and effectively within a complex environment and handle multiple/changing priorities.
Ability to independently manage and work on multiple projects.
Candidate must demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills.
